A journalist asked me a question last week, and it sparked the first of these letters. What was it that made me turn to poetry, and how has it impacted my mental health?

I'm probably incapable of expressing exactly how your words have impacted me...the wonder I've discovered, the magic I've unlocked within myself because I have been fortunate enough to have digested some of your work. Your words have inspired me to dig deep within myself, begin the overdue work of unpacking the pain I've held onto for far too long. Thank you. Even when it's devastating, thank you. I can not thank you enough💝
I think that it’s your ability to put on paper what we’ve all been through or going through but can’t always express that. When I read your words, they resonate, touch deeply and become very cathartic for me. Thank you for your words, they help heal 🌻
